When you think of Las Vegas, Kindergarteners do not normally cross your mind. Maybe that’s because Sin city is known for nightlife and what happens there, stays. But how do you get a kindergartener to be excited about visiting the entertainment capitol of the world? Simple, you tell them about the kid life there. And there are plenty of kid-friendly things to do in Las Vegas. If you want to describe Las Vegas to a five year old, you should start by knowing the city.
Several of the casinos have rollercoaster rides and they are all top notch! They spared no expense creating a kids paradise in Circus Circus, New York New York, and the Linx. There is an entire indoor amusement park full of rides in Circus Circus. They even dedicate an entire floor to carnival games and circus acts. You can catch these circus acts performing all day and the best part is that it is free! The trapeze men and woman come out every hour and perform for the crowds. But just in case your child is not a circus person, New York New York is right down the strip and features the biggest indoor arcade in Vegas. Imagine floors full of your favorite arcade games. New York New York also features a huge rollercoaster that wraps around the entire casino, and it is a great ride for everybody over 42 inches. If that is your kiddo, the age will not be a factor. You will board the cab car carbon copy coaster and be rushed away to fun! Last but not least, there is the High Roller located at the Linx. This is a 550 foot tall and 520 feet in diameter humongous Ferris wheel right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Your little boy, or girl, will love the panoramic views of the Las Vegas skyline. And you guys will love the private enclosed bubble that you will float around the circle in. While you guys jam to the music playing, you can have your own little dancing party right in the middle of everything. Your child will feel like they are on top of the world!
Maybe you do not thin that this would sound exciting to your five year old. They may not be into rollercoasters or arcades. Maybe they like animals and being in nature. You can pitch Las Vegas as a nature retreat just as much as you can pitch the rides. This town is full of beautiful natural wildlife and botanical gardens. You can start in Red rock where you and your little one will be surrounded by the natural wonders of the rocks that are painted red from iron. While you are out there at the Red Rock National Conservatory, you can stop by the petting zoo up the road and take a train ride through Bonnie Springs Ranch. Lets not forget the infamous Springs Preserve which has over 180 acres of nature. Last but not least, there is the Bellagio Conservatory Botanical Gardens for the hot summer days. Las Vegas can get up to 120 degrees so you always want an indoor option just in case and the Botanical Gardens in the Bellagio are a perfect indoor alternative that is equally fascinating.
The Pool Life
What 5 year old doesn’t love going swimming? Next to eating junk food, this may be the next on the list. And with temperatures scorching for three to four months out of the year, and no ocean in sight, Las Vegas has the ultimate varieties of pools. With two waterparks on each end of the town! Both Cowabunga Bay and Wet n’ Wild feature areas for your little tyke to play in the pool with people just there size! How exciting will they be to see a playground in the pool! When you see their faces light up with excitement of splashing… you will know, right then and there, that Las Vegas is not just for adults. It is for 5 year olds too.
They want kids to play just as hard as adults play. If you had to explain Las Vegas to a five year old it would be simple. Just let them know it is a place where they can have the time of their life! Let them know that you guys can go hiking and visit a petting zoo. Explain to them that the next day you guys can go to ride the roller coasters at Circus Circus, and then watch the circus performers. You may want to mention the sensational time you guys will watch movies in the wave pool at Cowabunga Bay. Or maybe you can tell your child they are going to have the time of their five year old life!
